| CT Nelson • Denver |
Nebraska-raised CT Nelson is a gifted artist who moved to Denver from Nebraska in 2002 to be part of its innovative scene. Since arriving in Denver, he has created a unique style of painting – a technique he named “Repetitive Fragmatism.” He captures moments of time on a single canvas by breaking and repeating his subject. the end result is a story told by separate fragments within the piece capturing seconds, representing intimate, simple moments.
CT Nelson is rapidly making his influence felt. Eight months after moving to Denver, he won the Art Students League of Denver Top of the Town award and most recently was awarded second place in the International Gamblin Oil Paints 2005 Torrid Grey Award and most recently was awarded Colorado Galleries, and held his first one man show this last February.
To start off 2006 he was selected into the Cherry Creeks Art Festival, one of the nations premiere art venues. Over 350,000 people attended last years three day event. And in 2007 he was selected as Curators Choice for the Art for Aids Auction, judged by Denver’s top art critics and galleries.
He is inspired by his great grandfather, an early 20th-century artist who gave up his dream to farm and raise a family. CT Nelson has vowed not to let that happened twice. |
